Vision: The PEYC Sail Camp has run successfully for many years. Participants have gained sailing skills, gained confidence and had a great deal of fun. The instructors are Sail Canada trained and certified, they will do their utmost to ensure that all participants have such a positive experience that they cannot wait to return next year!
What to bring: Transport Canada approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD), lunch, water, sunscreen, hat, sneakers (no open toe sandals). Expect to get wet: Bring a bathing suit, spare shirt etc. On rainy days please supply a rain jacket.
When: Monday thru Friday- 9am to 4pm including holidays. Supervision is provided during the lunch period.
Where: The Sailing Camp will be held at Waupoos Marina again this year - call us for directions if necessary. Certificates will be presented at a BBQ at PEYC on Fridays after each course.
Minimum Age: Normally 10 years, an exception may be made dependent upon the maturity and sailing experience of the child. Please contact the Camp Director.
Medical Emergencies: In case of emergency the participant will be taken to Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, main Street, Picton, phone 613-476-2181
Volunteers Needed: There is always work to be done in order to keep your costs down for the Sail Camp. It includes supervision, small repairs to boats, helping with special events etc. If you are able to help in this regard please make an instructor or the Camp Director aware of your desire to help.

Fundamental information on sailing, students will learn the basics and get an understanding of crewing a boat as well as some skippering experience.
Continuing to build on the basics of sailing as well as improving skippering and problem solving.

Building on Level 2 skills, the course increases confidence and teaches more advanced boat handling abilities. Of course, having fun remains a key element!
Building on Level 3 skills, successful completion of the course means that the sailor is competent in all essential basic sailing skills, can sail independently and safely have a great deal of fun out on the water!
